About Fern

MosaicI am the face behind CraftBlog. Born and raised in England within a family of crafty types covering everything from delicate beadwork to carpentry, I moved to Australia a week after my eighteenth birthday and never looked back.

I now live on the mid-north coast of NSW, with my husband, Dan, our sons, four year old Declan and three year old Connor plus our latest addition, a new babe due in December of 2011 and dubbed “Hercules” by its biggest brother. I sew and blog from my over stuffed garage filled to the brim with fabric, yarn and craft tools and although I dabble in most crafts, my main focus is on sewing (in particular quilting), crochet, embroidery and making over op shop finds. I aim to fill my life and home with beautiful things that make me smile, and if I’ve made them myself, it’s even better.

In February 2010 Dan and I became parents to a little girl, Robyn, who was stillborn at 36 weeks gestation. Although I don’t specifically write about stillbirth or Robyn on CB, she sometimes will come up in the natural course of  a post. If you’d like to find out more about Robyn, please read her birth story.

My personal blog can be found at Not Another Mummy Blog. My personal twitter is @FernTreacy – but beware, it isn’t always G-rated.

If you’re interested in emailing me, you can do so via the contact page.

About CraftBlog

CraftBlog.com.au is the Aussie hub of all that’s going on in the crafting world, no matter what your indulgence, you’re sure to find something about it here.

I aim to have a wide range of articles on CraftBlog, everything from beadwork to quilting, scrapbooking to needle felting, if you want to see a particular craft featured here then the best thing to do is get in touch and let us know, or even better, volunteer to be a contributor!

You can follow @Craftblog via Twitter, or “like” it on Facebook, unlike my personal account, these are family friendly and aim to be all craft, all the time!

Are you interested in contributing?

I’m constantly looking for both occasional and regular contributors to make posts, find the best links and help the blog grow. If you’re interested in lending your voice to CB, please take a look at the contributor page.

Hi, I'm FernHi, I'm Fern and CraftBlog is my online home. I live in NSW with my husband and three sons, and spend every moment of my free time with my head buried in some form of creativity. In fact, I've never met a craft I didn't like, although I think I've tried a fair few that probably weren't too keen on me. Want to know more?
