365 Days Of Awesome

My resolution this coming year is to keep up a daily journal of sketches and thoughts for the entire year. Partly so that I can look back and remember exactly what I was doing in 2010, and also as a form of art therapy for depression and some other issues I’m having.

I loved this journal, but didn’t want to drop $30 on it, so instead I picked up a Derwent Visual Art Diary for $3 and decorated the front page so you can see it through the covering plastic. It may not be as beautiful as the Kikki.K version, but I’m glad that I won’t have that daunting feeling hanging over me, the one where your notebook is so beautiful you’re scared of making a spelling mistake on the first page!

Some of my crafting resolutions for 2010 are to design and sketch a minimum of 10 random drawings a day. In reality I know that I will only be able to produce 5 but 10 number to shoot for.

Last year I promised to do at least part of one craft every day – AND I DID! It feels great! Even if it was only to draw a star or a heart or something. This year is more of the same and to touch every single thing in this house and put it away. Which will require crafting – of course – gotta sew up some baskets and stuff! Yippee!

I LOVE this idea – I’ve decided to challenge myself to do the same sort of thing on my blog, incorporating crafting, photography, family life and cooking. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Wow i really love this idea. it’s so easy to forget the little ideas and inspirations you get on the day to day! having a journal dedicated to this would def help, espcially just the fact that you’ll probably think about the idea more to remember to write it down!
