I’m still reveling in Maurice Sendak’s classic childrens’ story and the upcoming film adaptation, and as a continuation from yesterday’s Where The Wild Things Are food fest I thought today I’d highlight some of the truly inspirational crafts and tutorials that are scattered around the internet.

Jessy made this awesome Max hat to wear to the cinema to watch the upcoming movie and has very kindly shared the pattern and instructions via Instructables. All you need is a crown from gold construction paper and you’re set!

Check out this too cute Max tree ornament by Gwendolyn. I love the expression on his face! I could imagine a whole set with felt monsters decorating somebody’s Christmas tree this year.

I found a couple of quilts in my hunt but this one is by far my favourite, it’s obvious what it’s a homage to without being completely in your face “themey”. This quilt is proudly displayed on the wall of Cassy Lee’s son’s nursery, prepare yourself to be gobsmacked and take a peek at the entire Where The Wild Things Are Nursery.

Another instructables, this time for a Moishe Headpiece, dress your little one (or big one – it looks very adaptable!) up this halloween as everyone’s favourite wild thing. Team it with…
…your very own Moishe jumper – complete with claws! This tutorial also has a slightly different Moishe headpiece if you want to try something different, or combine idea from the two.

And I was trying so hard to keep it to just five things, but I can’t let this go without a mention, I love papercrafts, and this Max from Marshall Alexander is just fabulous. Download and construct your own Max here.
Stay tuned as I wrap up the WTWTA theme with my favourite “inspired by” finds on Etsy, and then a giveaway on Friday!

Check out the quilt I am making for my 36 year old son on my blog site: http://pws.blogsite.org/workshop. I am sewing the binding on it now.
