Extreme Sewing
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 9:05Hoppo Bumpo wrote yesterday about prewasing and the pain of watching half her fabric vanish through shrinkage and fraying. The comments on the post almost became a confessional, so many crafters admitting to the world that they didn’t pre-wash, it was like a sewers anon meeting.
So, inspired by this I created some buttons for those that laugh in the face of shrinkage, for those whose quarter seams don’t get unpicked when they become a little more than a quarter inch and for those who think pattern instructions are just some rough guidelines to follow, extreme sewing!
Just copy the code next to each image to put them onto your sidebar, blog post or website and admit to the world that you live live on the (selv)edge! No longer will we hide in the shadows, stand proud and let everyone know that you are an extreme sewer

If green isn’t your thing and you feel inspired to make your own badge (and you’re happy for other people to use it!) then let me know and I will put it up here (with credit!) to share and for other extreme crafters to use
Edit: The code to the first button was messed up, fixed now!

I love it! And after reading all the comments yesterday, I think I have resolved to live life on the selvedge (… except maybe if the fabric is red). I will be proudly posting your button.

I LOVE IT! Thanks for this. I feel like you made this just for me… although I take much comfort knowing I am not alone. Bless you all, my fellow extremists!
