I love the vintage look of Lomography, and yet can’t bring myself to fork out money, for a camera (or “another toy” as my husband would refer to it!) just because it takes some interesting looking pictures, particularly considering it took me almost two years to get the films printed from my wedding – who knows how long a roll of lomo film would have to wait!
Lomographs are characterised by their grainy appearance, over saturated colours and funky exposures. If you, like me, like the look but not the cost, then the Lomo-izer is the answer! I’ve just been playing with this for the last day or so, putting various photos through it, the results are so good that it makes me want to dress my kids up in 70s gear and take some retro photos of them to put through the Lomo-izer. I can see this being excellent for taking product photos of vintage looking softies to put in an online store, or just for adding a bit of character to your every day photos.
And, if you’re less of a tightarse than myself (or cohabitate with someone a with little more understanding!), Lomo cameras can be bought at Amazon.com. They currently have a great looking kit with everything you need to get started in Lomography, on sale, for $60, $10 less than the usual price. Let me know if you pick one up because I would love to see the final pictures.
You can also see plenty of real Lomo photos at Lomograhy.com

Wow, that’s really awesome i had no idea you could do that. I’m gonna look into that..
