Wednesday Blog Love – Meet Me At Mikes

I’m fairly certain there isn’t an Aussie Crafter online that doesn’t know all about Meet Me At Mikes and their work with the “Softies For Mirabel” campaign, but as the Mirabel auctions began today I figured a little more publicity wouldn’t go astray!

Meet Me At Mikes is a Fitzroy based store selling handmade and vintage goodies, I can’t say from experience having never been south of the border, but they promise to be “a happy place for all crafty types” and from all the good buzz I’ve heard about the store I’m sure there are plenty of crafty Melbournians that would back that claim up!

The blog features some beautiful photos found on flickr, some great online finds of cute handmade stuff and of course all the information you need to know about supporting the Mirabel Foundation and the work that they do with children in need.

You can see the first round of softies up for auction here on eBay.

Every week we try to chase away those midweek blues by showcasing some of our favourite Aussie craft bloggers. If you would like your blog to be considered for our “Wednesday Blog Love” post, please contact us. As we want to highlight local artists the only restriction we impose is that you’re based in Australia.

Pip, Heard you on Radio National last night. A woman after my own heart. I Just live for Craft and Art and cant see that there is any difference. After all you need to be a good craftsman to be a good Artist. I must tell you we have two mwn in our CQ Fibre Arts Group. Allen and his wife Beth are off a property. Allen Spins and Beth dyes the wool and Weaves. Now Bill: He creates beautiful woven scarfs but does it his way. Good stuff.
