Lately my husband and I have implemented a rewards system for our three year old. She is awarded stars (the cute origami kind) and gets to trade them in for little pretties that I buy her from??? You guessed it! No other place but Etsy! Recently I was wading through the thousands of tiny hair clips for sale when a beautiful pair of violet flowers (which have since been sold, boo hoo) caught my eye. I never could have imagined what I would find when I clicked on the seller, Lulu Splendor.
Lulu Splendor, a relative newcomer to the Etsy scene, officially opened it’s virtual doors on July 12th. The shop showcases an eclectic combination of sparkling, vintage style earrings and hair decorations, tiaras, as well as fashion and hair pretties for little girls. They are so wonderful that the word ‘splendor’ only just begins to capture their beauty. Whilst Carla’s (owner and designer of Lulu Splendor) Etsy store may be new, she is in fact a talented and seasoned jewellery maker, having owned a successful bridal accessory company for almost 10 years. Her work is colourful, decorative and highly detailed and shows the incredible passion that she puts into each piece. Carla started Lulu Splendor ‘just for fun’ and to pursue her own personal interests in fabric, textiles and design. How lucky we buyers are that she did!
I personally cannot go past the vintage style hair pretties, most of which are priced at an incredible $12.50US (all Etsy items must be in $US). I’m sure you will agree that this is a steal for such unique beauty. Having already bought one for myself (not my daughter, oops) I find myself going back frequently to check for new pieces or even just to torture myself by going through the sold items gallery, lusting over things I can never have. I will eventually get something for my daughter as well (seeing as the original search was for her) and when I do it will be some of the felt flower hair pretties, constructed with layers and layers of bright colours that come together to form something truly amazing.
Lulu Splendor is based in Melbourne, but is sure to become a worldwide hit. To immerse yourself in the splendor you must visit Carla’s Etsy store NOW!

By the way, I get the cute origami stars from Etsy too. LOL!

Having said that, Im not on the team so I can \’make\’ stuff am I! LOL! if I learn to make everything I am buying then where would we be?
VERY good point! I don’t know what we’d do without our resident shopaholic
I owe you an email, the outgoing server is having some issues, I should be able to get it sorted by the evening!
