Wonderful craft blog!
I came across this looking for some guidance on how to go about making a memory quilt (basically a way to reuse all the old cute baby clothing I've saved from my son). I think this technique will work great! This is the best tutorial (and best looking) quilts I've seen yet. I'll be blogging about my progress as I attempt my first pseudo-quilt!
Thanks!

Hi,
This looks wonderful, but I need a definition of "resting fabric." Is it that blue strip? Is it basically just a sort of centering marker/piece? I first thought it was a fabric laid over the backing (which I assume is that 10 X 10 white block).

More pictures would help me! I'm brand new to quilting and would love to begin with a project like this. If no additional pics available, perhaps a bit more explanation for the dummies of "Quiltiing for Dummies"! :)

Oh I love this - I've never made a "proper" quilt before, but this really looks like something I can do.

Just one question - do you need to stick one particular weight/type of fabric, ie all cotton, or can it literally be scraps of all kinds of things?

I love this. The resting fabric rocks. I plan on making something with this technique next.

This is great - I just shared it with my niece. Really easy to picture and read and I've just read it once. Thanks

My church quilting group has now made more than 20 queen size quilts using your pattern. We call it Bull's Eye Quilt as the end triangles create a "bull's eye" when put together. We use all random widths of strips in our quilts-the more random the prettier! We have made a dent in our scrap bag with this pattern. We have donated these quilts for our church mission trips to give as gifts to people less fortunate than ourselves.
